Like all retailers, GameStop truly depends on holiday sales. And like most retailers, a lot of this revenue comes from gift givers. But unlike many other retailers, we learned that gamers often wait until holiday deals drop to buy games for themselves. So we need to appeal to gift-givers and gamers, and gamers who are gift-givers, this holiday season.
How can we make magic happen for anyone buying a game this holiday season?
It feels like a moment of pure bliss. Like a fireworks show of dopamine. Like this…
It feels like you’re the best parent/family member/significant other/friend in the world. It feels rewarding, glorious, and euphoric. It feels like, “HELL YEAH! I DID IT!”
Once we find the right gift, we become as excited to give it as the other person is to receive it (also true when we’re the giver and the receiver).
The right gift’s journey to its rightful owner can be anything but exciting.
The holidays are fraught with peril for many buying a game at Christmastime. People are worried they won’t find the exact game they need, or it will arrive late, or any fear in between.
And to top it off, it feels like the worst of humanity comes out during the most wonderful time of the year.
Payers and Players. These could be parents, aunts, uncles, significant others, hard core gamers, beginner gamers, and anyone else buying a game during the holidays. Some may know exactly what they’re looking for. Some may not even know we’re on the 4th generation of Play Station.
But what they all want is the right game.
